CFD and virtual simulations are the natural extension of Advantech TIME’s services. They are highly efficient and can be fully integrated with our other activities, ensuring complete support to our clients. They provide strong value in R&D, product redesign, and parametric analysis. For example, numerical models are particularly effective for sensitivity studies on geometric design parameters or when testing variations in a product’s operating conditions. CFD simulations, on the other hand, deliver a 3D, multi-physics perspective of the phenomena at play—something no other approach can offer. And whenever needed, our in-house lab supports these activities with validation tests and empirical regression, helping you achieve truly efficient outcomes.

How We Work

For CFD simulations, we rely on STAR-CCM+, an industry-standard solver widely recognized across sectors, mastered by our team thanks to its strong academic background. To handle the demanding computational requirements of complex projects, simulations are powered by advanced cloud computing systems in collaboration with ARCTUR, the Slovenian high-performance computing center.

Where project needs alternative approaches, other numerical simulation methods are also used, ranging from zero-dimensional or lumped-parameter models to custom-developed solutions on platforms such as Matlab/Simulink, or even tailor-made codes in C#, Python, and other programming languages.

Having an in-house laboratory makes it possible to effectively integrate numerical projects with the experimental validation or empirical correlation activities that may be required.
